The New and Improved Room

After being in our house 4 years (a record for us by far), I felt like it was time for some changes. We talked about replacing one of our front rooms with an office and decided to go ahead and do it (pictures soon). But then I decided to change the dining room into a piano/sitting room as well while we were at it.

I painted some picture frames and added a new family motto:

My first DIY project: end table from DI for $6 spray painted white with new door handles from Hobby Lobby. Lamp was from DI for $8 and I did the lampshade myself by wrapping yarn round and round and round, etc. It was actually kinda fun.

My new 70's couch (as Tom calls it) that was a really great deal at DownEast.

And there you have it! I love my new, updated sitting room.
