It was only a matter of time...

Take this...
Add this...
Equals this...
So I figured it was bound to happen. I haven't had a kid color or write on any walls, floor or furniture. But that all changed this morning. Eli found his pen which looks like a little toy... Tom took the boys to Burger King last week when I had a meeting and got them all kids meals. I even thought to myself when I saw the spongebob 'toy' later that night, "Probably not a good 'toy' for Eli. What were they thinking giving pens to little kids?" I should have thrown it out then, but instead I put it in our pen drawer and not our toy drawer.
Well we were in the kitchen while Eli was 'playing' in the family room. And I totally thought he was playing with some legos so nicely. Little did I know he had made an artistic mural on my couch.
I wasn't all that mad when I found it though. But I pretended to be so Eli would know not to write on things other than paper again. I sent him to time-out and made him cry. He said sorry and tried to help clean it up...
But apparently nothing really gets pen out of white leather couches. I looked online and tried all the suggestions: hairspray, perfume, rubbing alcohol, vinegar, soap and water, etc. The rubbing alcohol probably worked the best but also took the finish off the couch at the same time. So I guess I am giving up for now.
Bottom line: If you want nice things, don't have kids:)
