Shut the Front Door- Eli is 4!

So I never really got the expression- "shut the front door" but found a way to use it anyhow.

Mr. Eli, my middle man, turned 4 today.  We started out the morning with Krispy Kreme donuts for breakfast- something we rarely have.  And Eli was so handsome for church even though I had to convince him to wear his new suit outfit.  (He still refused to wear the pants.)  Too bad I didn't get my camera out then.

He was much happier to be home and doing what he loves... playing the wii.

With cousin Will... a lot of people tell me Eli looks like he belongs in Will's family.

We had some friends and family over for pizza.  Eli loved his new presents.  He got Skylanders, legos, transformers, army men, and a batman house.  He was in heaven:)

 Fun with friends and cousins!
A while ago, I took Eli out for ice cream at dairy queen and he loved looking at the ice cream cake.  So I decided to get him one for his birthday- one of my all-time favorite things!  Turns out, my picky eater didn't even have a bite and ran off to go play instead.

Tyce on the other hand, loved it and helped finish off any other bowls left behind.  He started with a spoon...
And then decided it was just faster to pick up the ice cream cake instead.  Why not, right?
And after letting him stay up and play Skylanders while we cleaned up, I would say someone was extremely tired... and it wasn't Tyce.  Poor kid was wiped out!

At four-years-old, Eli...

-Wakes up grumpy every morning no matter how many hours he slept
-Loves to play with his big brother and asks all day long, "How many more hours til Ethan gets home?"
-Doing great in preschool
-Can do a lot more by himself then I ever let Ethan at this age- makes his bed, gets dressed, efficiently wipes in the bathroom, etc
-Plays well with Tyce and is great and trying to cheer him up if he is hurt or sad
-More quiet and shy than I realize.  Probably because he always has a brother around him
-Loves, loves, loves anything electronic.  He could play the wii and games on phones all.day.long.  But watches very little tv or movies
-Fairly easy-going.  Doesn't throw a lot of fits
-Still my picky eater.  Likes cereal for breakfast.  Chicken nuggets or bean with bacon soup for lunch.  Occasionally ramen noodles.  Eats nothing for dinner- maybe a plain roll or bread.
-Doesn't even love dessert that much- hardly eats any ice cream or cookies or cake.  But does like candy.
-Favorite snack= pretzals or yogurt
-Sleeps with his favorite star blankies and very rarely gets out of bed.
-Likes to 'read' books to me and can summarize his favorite ones
-Plays well with older kids and most enjoy having Eli around
-Probably has a secret crush on his friend, Molly
-Naturally athletic and fast
-Can ride his bike without training wheels for the past 2 months or so
-Takes things in stride.  Doesn't seem overly excited about life
-Fun to be around and puts a smile on our face.

We just love Eli!  Happy Birthday!
