So who says the middle child gets overlooked? Eli and I were reading books yesterday. He found an alphabet book and would tell me the letter, followed by the picture. It went something like this (I couldn't remember all of them)-
A is for Airplane
C is for Cow
H is for Hat
I is for (Ink) "Milk"
M is for (Mug) "Cup"
N is for (Nest) "Birds"
O is for (Orange) "Watermelon"
P is for Pig
Q is for (Quilt) "Sleeping"
S is for Snake
T is for (Tomato) "Apples"
W is for (Wheelbarrow) “Things you put garbage and stuff in”
X is for (X-ray) "Person"
Y is for (Yacht) "Boat"
Z is for Zebra!
I thought it was pretty cute. After listening to him read, I decided they should make some of the pictures a little easier... What kid knows a Yacht? Or even Ink these days?
Then today, I had Eli and Tyce hooked up to the Wii playing Just Dance 3 (which they love!) So I went upstairs to catch my shower and get ready for a trip to the temple. Eli and Tyce almost immediately followed. (I just noticed my last post was about the adventure while I showered). Only this time, I had locked them out of my room. They start pounding on the door and wanted in, but I told them I will let them back in when I get out of the shower. Pretty soon, the pounding stops and I figure they gave up and found some toys. Nope. When I got out, they were back at my door and Eli was crying. I asked Eli why he felt so cold. So I guess he took Tyce and went across the street to Kristin Baker's house to get help. They knocked on her door and told her they were locked out. She looked across the street and saw our front door wide open and knew they couldn't be locked out! But then they explained they were locked out of the shower! I about died laughing when I talked to Kristin. I asked Eli what he wanted Sister Baker to do... knock the bedroom door down. He said he needed a grown-up to help cause I was taking too long.... Just goes to show I never get a moment's peace around here.
He's so fast... he's just a blur
And my camera's battery died, so I had to snap a few shots of Eli's last soccer game tonight from my iphone before it died too. Eli did awesome this game! He scored a few times, stayed in the game and didn't pout, and even played some pretty good defense. I am impressed with this kids' natural soccer abilities. Great job, Sharks!
