Right after I had Ethan, a roommate from college sent me a gift and in the letter she mentioned that if you can make it through the first 6 weeks, it gets better from there. I've always taken that to heart.
Except for the fact that my nights are always interrupted for feedings, the first 6 weeks with Grant have been quite smooth. He is starting to coo at me when I talk to him. He also started smiling about a week ago. I had to turn on the night light to change his diaper at 4am and he is all smiles:) I love it. He also doesn't fuss in the mornings any more. I'm able to get him to go back to sleep smoothly. So just a fussy time in the evening when I try to keep him up for a little while before bed. Otherwise, it feels like he is constantly napping! Such a good boy... Most days are just flying by.
