After A LOT of coaxing, I finally committed to running the Provo City half marathon. My sister-in-law, Melissa, moved to our neighborhood in Nov and wanted to train for her first half. Since I was running with her anyways, and a big group from our neighborhood signed up, I succumbed to peer pressure and decided to join in...
(I didn't have my camera for the rest of the trip, but here we are pre-race...with a few girls missing to go park the cars)
And in the end, I was glad I did! We had a great time with two carloads of girls, (there were 12 of us) we headed down to Provo to pick up our packet, get some yummy pasta at Macaroni Grill, and then slumber party at a cabin. We stayed up way too late and i slept awful on a hard bunk bed. But the course had a slight downhill for the first 7 miles, the weather was cool but nice, and I felt pretty good. I always start off nice and slow for the first mile, but then picked up my pace to 8:30 min/mile for the next 6 miles. After that, I was feeling so good I picked up my pace to 7:45. I finished the race in 1 hour 51 minutes and 05 seconds (beating my past record of 1:58) and had so much energy at the end! It was a fun morning:)
