My new favorite city...Chicago

We have been talking about visiting Carrie and Mark since they moved to Illinois last fall... and it actually happened!  We planned a girls' trip that started in Chicago, stayed in Bloomington (where Carrie lives) and also went to Nauvoo.  We packed our 5 days full of fun!  Carrie met us in Chicago the first day where the temp was frigid (like 40 degrees and windy) and we immediately walked to the Navy Pier and got a hot dog!  We went to American dog and had the best hot dog ever (or maybe I was extremely hungry).  I also waited in line for 20 min or so to get some delish caramel popcorn at Garretts.  We then took a taxi to Millenium Park where we checked out the Bean, Art Institute (we didn't really have time to tour it), shopping, and Giardano's Pizza.  The Chicago deep dish pizza really was fantastic.

Amelia and I got to see more of the city on our way back through.  This time, the weather was 80 and perfect.  We took a water tour along the Chicago River and out to Lake Michigan where we learned all about the skyscrapers (including the Willis, aka Sears, tower- tallest in North America).  We wandered along the Magnificent Mile (aka. Michigan Ave...street known for its shopping) and ate more pizza at the Due.  With all the food, sights, shopping, shows, and sports, I definitely want to come back and see more!
