Weekend in Bear Lake

Warning: Picture overload!
We enjoyed the past weekend at Bear Lake with some friends, the Loveridges. They had never been to Bear Lake before nor been on a wave runner... so we had to plan a trip! They have 3 cute girls, who the boys (especially Eli) adore. In fact, it was so nice to have some older girls around to entertain/watch the boys. I felt like I almost got the weekend off!

We spent most of the first day... at the beach! The kids loved swimming in the water (even though it was a little chilly) and playing in the sand.

Since this trip wasn't planned too far in advance, we ended up staying in Bloomington, ID. It was about 30 minutes north of Garden City, where we usually stay. We were out in the country (literally- the town has 251 people) but the basement apartment/cabin was a lot nicer and roomier than we expected:) We have never been to the north part of Bear Lake, so we took the kids through Bloomington Canyon and hiked to Bloomington Lake.

After our hike, we spent the rest of the day... at the beach! This time we rented a wave runner and everyone had a blast riding it. I'm so excited my in-laws are building a cabin at Bear Lake so we can come visit more often next summer! And yes, I did go for a mild ride on the seadoo at 7.5 months pregnant:) It was a little bit of torture though cause I really wanted to catch some air... maybe next summer.
After church on Sunday, we got to look around a really old Tabernacle in Paris, ID. I was impressed they built such a fabulous structure sorta in the middle of nowhere. And then it was time to come home...just in time for a wind storm to cause a power outage that lasted 19 hours! It was quite an adventure living without tv,a/c, lights, microwaves, etc. Boy was I glad when it finally came back on. What a memorable weekend:)
