Tommy, Tommy, Quite Contrary...

How does your garden grow? Really quite well, thanks to Tom who enjoys having a garden. It really doesn't interest me at all, but I'm always happy to be picking some fresh vegetables at harvest time...
Beginning of the summer
End of the summer

And the results...
We really kicked off the end of summer by canning this week. It started Monday night cause we came home from Bear Lake with a bunch of raspberries. I combined them with all the strawberries we got from our garden this year and made 12 pints of freezer jam.
Later in the week, I decided to keep going with this theme and prepped, blanched, and cut 5 dozen ears of corn for the freezer. I did this last year too and it was great to pull out real corn on the cob to put in soups or side dishes.
And lastly, we finished off the week by doing our first 2 batches of salsa. Tom is practically giddy every year at salsa time. We got the tomatoes because only our cherry tomatoes are ripe right now. But the bell, anaheim, and jalepeno peppers all came from our garden. So two batches down... hopefully just 2 more to go.
That was our busy week. I really am tired tonight and just want to veg in front of the tv or with a good book. I think I deserve it:)
