"Hello Robot"

So this past week, Ethan was really intent on making a robot. I wasn't sure what gave him the idea, but he kept saying he wanted to build a robot and needed daddy's tools. So I kept referring him to daddy for robot-making. On Sunday, Tom went out to the garage and came back with some pieces for a robot. They put it together while I was upstairs getting ready for church. I thought they did a pretty good job- shovels for hands, bucket for the body, screws for eyes and nose, etc.

The funny part is when they had finished putting the pieces together, Ethan stands back and says, "Hello Robot." When he didn't get an answer, he tells Tom "This robot isn't very good. He doesn't even know how to talk! I think he needs more cords inside." I guess Ethan had imagined putting together a robot like C3PO (from Star Wars of course) that could talk and respond to his commands. I thought it was hilarious... too bad for Ethan that this robot will have to do!
