Baseball Begins!

We are officially into baseball season... goodbye Whitesox (2010) and hello Diamondbacks (2011)! We have also moved up in the league... goodbye t-ball and hello coaches' pitch. Did I mention that Ethan has worn his new hat day and night for two weeks? I'd say we were pretty excited for the first game. We even had two practices in pouring rain already. That's dedication!



Some things have improved since t-ball. The kids are hitting better (mine still needs some work) and running to the bases in the right order! Ethan is now attempting to go for the ball when someone hits. And we are wearing the batter's helmet on the right way so far this season.

And then some things haven't changed. It is still a dogpile when everyone goes for the ball. My favorite part is that whoever comes up with it, doesn't throw it to first- but holds it high in the air like a trophy. (Ethan got it twice the first game and was so proud). There is also plenty of time to goof around with buddies. I even heard Ethan singing "Shake your bootie" with his friend. And of course, it doesn't matter in the end who scored the most as long as you get a juice box and a treat:)
