The big leagues

Ethan had his first baseball game in the big boy (machine pitch) leagues.  This is so much different from last year. For starters, the kids seem huge (some are in 3rd grade) and they really know what they are doing!  Our team, The Yankees, even had a few double plays this first game.  There were some great hits and home runs and everything.  And then there's Ethan... who, even though he's tall for his age, seems like such a baby out there.  I think he misses the good ol' days of goofing around with buddies in the dugout.  But I was really proud of him- he stayed out there the whole time, paid attention to the game, hit the first time he was up to bat, and although he struck out the second time, he never cried or got upset.  That was a success in my book!
