Leprechauns, Limericks, and Easter eggs?

Ethan woke up this morning when he thought he heard some small footsteps making noise. He immediately knew that some leprechauns probably got into our house and made mischief. Yep, he found the milk had been turned green! And then he found some coins around the piano and little pots of money for him and Eli. (We decided Tyce would probably put them in his mouth and choke so maybe the leprechauns will leave him something next year.) There were also pictures to color. We put on our green shirts and woke up Eli to show him some goodies. That's when we noticed the leprechauns had peed in the toilet (green) and forgot to flush! The boys thought it was hilarious!

Next, it was time to meet at the church (9am-ugh) for breakfast and... an Easter egg hunt? Yep that's how we celebrate around here. It was a windy day but the boys were so excited and loved collecting treats. Fun morning:)

Some of the other highlights of the week: sunny days so we walked home from school a few times, pulling weeds around the flower beds (did the complete first round which is always my least favorite), more swim lessons, attending a caucus that might be my first and last, Tom in St George all weekend with high school buddies, Children's museum, reading 'Room' for book club in about 15 hours, having extra kids around the house, and running 8 miles (getting ready for another half in May). And the usual cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc. Yep, it's been a pretty good/busy week.
And I did give up sugar for the whole week just to see if I could detox because I am soooo addicted to candy (I munch on it all day long. I am like a 7-year-old, I know). I could have usual things with sugar- pb &j, cereal, etc. Just not desserts and candy. It wasn't as miserable as I thought except I really, really wanted some candy about halfway through the week. But by Friday, I passed up M&M cookies without much of a second thought. Only I started having treats again today and sorta went crazy with the Easter egg hunt candy around. I think I found out that I do have some willpower which was a pleasant surprise. Let's never try that experiment again, though!
