Mother's Day

Aaahhh... I wish Mother's Day was a monthly thing instead of an annual event. But then I guess it would lose its excitement.
My new tradition.... taking a picture of me with each of the kiddos on Mother's Day... My brother and sister-in-law's neighbor died last weekend very suddenly. She was young and 8 months pregnant with her 4th child. It's got me thinking this week that my kids have very few pictures with me cause I am usually the one behind the camera. So that way, if something ever happens to me, at least they will have a picture less than a year old. (Note to self: take pics before the boys change out of their church clothes next year).
Notice some blonde highlights? I finally decided to highlight my hair after years of leaving it alone. I am liking it more and more, even though I feel like I should be on a beach somewhere.

And Tom brought home some beautiful roses yesterday; the boys picked out my new pink slippers; and I finally opened the Nook I bought myself for Mother's day. So I am feeling spoiled! Did I still clean, cook, and sweep on Mother's Day? You bet. But I will blame that on the OCD.
But it is a wonderful time to think about the great mothers and women in our lives, including my own mom and mother-in-law and grandmas. They are special people and I'm lucky to be influenced by such great women. Happy Mother's Day.

Hey!!! Your blonde highlights look cute!! :) So you are waiting to hear about St. George!!! That is so cool! St. George is my mom's favorite marathon and the one that still holds her fastest record. I tell ya, training for this marathon is making me realize I don't want to do another full for a looong time! It is so hard. I barely fit in 3 miles 3-4 days during the week and I don't think it is enough to support LOONNG runs on Saturdays! SO time consuming. It makes halfs look like a piece of cake though! So I will do some halfs too, my mom wants me to do Deseret News Half on the 24th of july with her... and I want to to Top of Utah half in September. BUT it all probably depends on how this Ogden full goes, I am really scared. I've trained up to 19, but even so... yikes. Anyway we definitely need to get together soon! The weather is getting nice finally, we should meet at a park somewhere! I wanna know if you get in to St. George!
