A very UNtraditional Turkey day... without the turkey!

Trying to capture a smile on camera... easier said than done!

Grandma Annette came over to visit!
Ethan dressed as my little Indian!

So this was the first year since Tom and I have been married that we didn't have a place to go on Thanksgiving. We usually switch one year with Tom's side and the next with mine. Most of the time, we go to my Grandma Herzog's house when it is my side, but everyone spent turkey day in Las Vegas at my aunt and uncle's place. Although Vegas would be fun, I wanted to stay home, mostly to potty-train Eli and hit the Black Friday sales.
That left Tom's side of the family... but they were heading to Vegas as well for Braxton's football tournament. Weird- no place to go on Thanksgiving... except my friends' parents place, (thanks for the invite and persistence, btw) which we declined.
So this is how Thanksgiving went... Tom played football with friends while I shopped online all morning. We lounged around in our pjs all afternoon and I had a pb&j for lunch. I did a workout, and found out my mom didn't go to Vegas after all. Tom took Ethan to see the new movie Tangled while I stayed home with the napping kids. Mom came over for a visit. We ended up eating dinner at McDonalds while the kids had playland all to themselves. How bizarre- but kinda nice at the same time.
We sure have a lot to be thankful for... I often feel like my cup runneth over cause I've been blessed with so much. Happy Thanksgiving!
