Better with age

So I ran a half marathon on Sat- the first one since my full marathon 5 years ago! It took me five years (and 2 kids later) to get motivated to run more than 3 or 4 miles. And even this summer, I was hardly motivated to do some distance runs- I went 6 miles twice, 8 miles twice, and 10 miles once... much less training than in the past.
But I had a really great race and finished in 2 hours flat- my best time yet! (I never pretended to be fast at these, but it did put me at 3rd place for my age group). I can't decide if that makes me want to do another, or just end on a high note... at least I surprised myself to think that perhaps some things do get better (or faster) with age. Tom and the boys found me along the way with about 5 miles to go- perfect timing cause I was just starting to run out of steam here.

Crossing the finish line...

Hooray... glad to be done!

2 of my biggest (or smallest) fans!

I've found that races are a little addicting. I predict you won't stop now. :)
